Nice picture, nice idea. I did something like that with short stories, one a day, for one year (Contact http://www.ninedellobo.com/category/contact) both in English and Italian. Keep doing the good job. Questa è una gran bella foto che fa parte di un progetto lungo un anno: una foto al giorno (non solo cavalli, quindi)… Val la pena di seguirlo.
This was shot today in the morning, there was a nice layer of fog which added to the overall moody feel. There were several horses but this one was not standing so I was able to get a better perspective.

This week will be a bit of a catch-all, covering a variety of patterns of white hairs that are neither grey, classic roan, face and leg markings, or associated with white spotting. (Varnish roan, for instance, is a leopard gene pattern, and sabino and dominant white may also produce roaning as part of the pattern.) The genetics of none are well understood. Following Sponenberg, I will list and describe them here. Sorry for the lack of photos, but I haven’t even seen all of these patterns myself.
The first, frosty, may be a variant of classic roan, as it is found in the same breeds. In this pattern, the roaning is most pronounced over bony areas such as the hips, and roaning may affect the mane, tail and head as well as the body. “Squaw manes” and “squaw tails” with white hair mixed in often indicate the frosty pattern…

Regalone di Natale: di nuovo in sella!
English Abstract at the End of the Post
Con quattro mesi esatti di anticipo Sacha è tornata in sella e miglior regalo di Natale non poteva esserci per lei e per tutti noi. Poche parole, perchè al solito le immagini parlano da sole. Lei e Doc, la vecchia nave scuola di Rancho Comancho, di nuovo insieme come quando lei ha cominciato, tanti anni fa.
Prima volta in sella dopo l’infortunio e quattro mesi di attesa: commozione assicurata (poco importa se foto mossa…)
A quattro mesi dalla frattura del femore, i medici dell’ospedale di Parma hanno detto che l’osso si è ricomposto perfettamente, che si è calcificato alla grande e hanno dato a Sacha il via libera per tornare in sella. (altro…)

Questa immagine è legata a un post pubblicato su un blog che si chiama, guarda caso “l’arte di perdere peso”. Nel testo si fa notare soprattutto il consumo di calorie di una cavalcata notturna nella neve, prima di un buon bicchiere di vino… Due altre buone ragioni per venire a scoprire il cavallo da noi…
